Tinker Bell finds herself crossing into the Winter Woods. There she meets Periwinkle and together they find the magical powers that their wings obtain. They have to save the Pixie Tree from a dark winter, but something horrible happens to Tinker Bell, will the wing power fix it?
I saw this on TV so I missed out on the sound and feel of a Theater viewing. And I think that that is a sad thing. The graphics are great on the small screen so they must be amazing on the big.
The story was very good, though (for grown-ups) a bit predictable. Basically Tinker Bell (a warm weather fairy) wants to cross the border to the winter realm, which is against the rules. Similarly a Winter Fairy wants to see the warm realm. When these two get together the typical Tinker Bell problems ensue requiring fairies from both realms to come together to fix.
For the adults this is escapist entertainment with a mild political overtone. For the kids this is great entertainment with friendship, action, some adventure and just a touch of learning why we have rules.
My only negative comment is the song that played in the background throughout the movie. It is something about dividing or a divide. I don’t usually comment on an individual’s talent if I cannot do a better job, but whoever was singing that song needs to quit. The voice was like fingernails on a chalkboard and extremely distracting.
I would have given this movie a full 10 stars had it not been for the constant playing of that song.
