A mute Russian girl infiltrates Toronto’s underground sex trade to avenge the death of her sister.
As far as revenge flicks go, this one was pretty good. It has a simple enough story — Karma (Bechard) is a mute Russian girl (I’m betting she couldn’t do a Russian accent so they made her a mute) who makes her way to Toronto to murder the people who murdered her sister, Anna. It doesn’t hurt that she has to go undercover in a sex slave trade, either.
Not really too much to say about this one, it’s certainly a B-movie, but it keeps your interest the whole way through. Sure, it’s a bit cheesy but that’s how it’s meant to be. This movie is basically paying homage to the old grind house flicks where girls got raped and then sought out their revenge by any means possible.
I love to root on a protagonist when their main motive is revenge and it doesn’t hurt that they just happen to be a Playboy Playmate to boot. The movie is just for fun, it does exactly what it intends to do, be entertained. I even enjoyed the little twists that they threw at the audience. That’s what they call a bonus!
